At the 29th to 32nd Mundus Vini World Wine Competition held in Germany, Changyu was awarded the "Best of Show China" for the latest four years.
Longyu Wine Estate
As a high-end strategic wine brand of Changyu , Longyu was born at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia, China.
In 2023, Jancis Robinson MW, one of the world's top three wine critics, gave Longyu a score of 17.5(second only to Chateau Lafite’s 18.5 points), which is the highest score among the 483 Chinese wines rated by Jancis Robinson.Since the opening of Wine Estate, Longyu has won over 150 international awards,sold well in 50 countries around the world.Longyu is the Chinese estate wine listed in the most Michelin stars and Black Pearl restaurants winelist worldwide.It is also the leader in Chinese estate wine market with the largest sales volume of wines above 1,000 yuan.
Why is Longyu the new benchmark of global wine?It's due to their perseverance and dedication at all costs.
In order to select the best grapegrowing area, they tried almost the entire appellation of Ningxia within 17 years and selected 25 blocks with a total area of 5600 mu as the exclusive grapegrowing base.
In Ganchengzi,the most representative small wine region in Ningxia ,only 15% of the blossoms set fruit successfully due to the strong breeze and gale during bloom every year, resulting in loose bunches of grapes with tiny grains and thick skins. so there is rich phenolic compunds and aromatic substances in the wine.
Longyu comprehensively has improved the "tilt horizental single-cordon pruning system”and confined the fruit setting zone to an area about 20cm where the light and heat conditions are optimal, so as to produce the full and evenly riped berries.
During harvest,grape selection processes are first carried out when the fruit hanging on the vines.An additional manual selection of clusters and optical sorting grape grains for 360 °capture are important processes to ensure every grape grains into the fermenter is perfect.
Grapes harvested in different batches and blocks are made with different processes and fermented into over 100 fermentation vessels.To enhance the aromas from grapes, a meticulous selection of superior yeast strains at home and abroad are conducted, followed by a gradual fermentation process carried out in three distinct temperature zones.
Different styles of bulk wine are put into more than 30 high-end oak barrels in different regions, different textures and different toast levels,and aged for 24 months.
Longyu Wine Estate invites more than 20 senior winemakers around the world to blend wines in structure,body,bouquet,balance and integrity according to their own preferences.
Hundreds of samples will be appraised and blind tasted for several rounds and the highest scoring wine can be crowned as "LONGYU". After 6-12 months bottle storage depending on the quality level, a full- bodied and well-structured Longyu wine with strict standards and complex techniques will be launched to the market.
