Originally a fruit farm, with a founding date of 1771, Warwick officially came to be when it was named by a retired colonel in tribute to his Warwickshire regiment. The first vines were planted in 1964 with the first release of a bottled wine in 1984. Warwick has earned the national and international distinction as being one of the defining wineries in the Stellenbosch region.
