The Baron-Fuenté champagne house began with the beautiful love story, of Gabriel Baron and Dolorès Fuenté. The daring couple used grapes from the family’s 17th century old Charly-sur-Marne vineyard to make its first cuvées, and subsequently transmitted their values of boldness and passion to their children, Sophie and Ignace, who are at the helm of the company today. Ignace takes care of the crafting and production of each cuvée, and Sophie manages the vineyard, administrative teams, and the firm’s business development.
Since the 2000s, they have modernised their production operations by expanding their cellars, the winery, and their labeling workshop, and integrating innovative technologies guarantee its consistent, high-quality wines.
The champagne house grew in 2011 when it integrated Lété-Vautrain’s vineyards. The independence of the family-run grower-producer estate (RM) has been preserved to respect its uniqueness.
Some cuvées are aged in oak barrels and specific estate parcels are ethically farmed so as to respect both the terroir and the environment.
The vineyard, located in Charly-sur-Marne, near Paris, is exceptionally rich in clay and limestone making it ideal for the region’s emblematic Meunier grape variety. This unique terroir, together with a sustainable approach perfectly reflects Baron-Fuenté’s commitment to protecting its heritage and transmitting a promising future to upcoming generations.
